Who are we?

Hi! We're Fairway, a professional, brand-driven web design agency providing website design and development solutions for service-based businesses across Western Canada. Based out of Edmonton and Calgary, we've had the pleasure of working with local startups, small businesses, and large corporations looking to improve their online presence, starting with a beautiful, high-performing website that highlights the unique aspects of their brand identity.

Why “Fairway”?

As you may have been able to tell from our branding, our small team at Fairway share a deep love for the game of golf. Looking to mix a bit of pleasure with our business, we named our company after what we believe is the best place on Earth, the fairway. However, golf isn't the only inspiration for our name. Since 2018, we have built a reputation of helping business owners and execs establish their company's online image. We've been fortunate enough to work with some excellent people behind these businesses who we've established mutually beneficial relationships with. Much of what sustains these positive relationships isn't just great web design, but by establishing these three pillars:

Communication

Friendly, transparent communication that keeps both parties informed, valued and respected from the first phone call or meeting, through the design process, and after. Integrity

We look to be a great fit for as many businesses as we can, but are transparent to interested individuals when our solutions simply don't align with their business's needs. In other words, we don't upsell for the sake of getting more of your business. Instead, we look to find you the best solution to your problem, no matter where you go to get it.

Sincerity

We offer free advice to anyone who asks and don't keep our "trade secrets" to ourselves. We believe if you can bring value to your own business by simply utilizing our knowledge of the internet space, then we're more than happy to share it with you, free of charge!

Where it all started

Established in 2018, James and Kyle, two web designers from Stony Plain, AB created a small web design agency that catered to small businesses who needed a "big business" website at a "little business" price. As small business owners themselves, they believed that top-tier, non-templated websites should be accessible to the little guys.

When Fairway began, every website was hand-coded from the initial framework to launch. James and Kyle's idea was that every site needed to be custom and unique to the brand it was being built for. Typical web design platforms simply didn't allow the level of customizability that a top-tier website required. This way of developing websites proved to be incredibly time consuming but effective in making these small businesses stand out. After 2 years of developing sites the "hard way", a platform called Webflow was suggested to them as a unique alternative to other traditional web design tools. The benefit of the platform was that it allowed developers to create websites in a much faster way, that still produced a custom-coded product. It also allowed business owners to operate their website much easier than other web design tools. At this point, they made the switch to become Webflow developers, building websites for local businesses exclusively through this platform.

Fast forward to 2024, Fairway has helped over 100 businesses, from automotive shops to fitness studios and healthcare companies develop and grow their website and online presence. They continue to work with startups and small businesses, as well as larger companies and non-profit organizations build excellent, custom-built web solutions.
